we went in to see lilly this morning and they let veronica "kangaroo" her. that's when they take lilly and place her directly on veronica's skin, like a little joey. they sat like this for over an hour as they both drifted off to sleep; lilly in her milk coma, veronica in her euphoria coma. they had to eventually put lilly back in her isolette to be changed and fed. we're going back in to see her this evening and again after dinner.
they're keeping veronica for ANOTHER day! it's like we're prisoners here. lilly's social worker (i prefer to call her lilly's concierge - it more accurately describes her job) offered to petition the warden for an early release, but i don't think it's going to go very far. oh well, one more night on my wonderful cot won't kill me. besides, this way lilly's right across the hall!
