4 lbs, 2 oz and growing!!

so little lillian is up over 4 pounds now!! gained something like 75 grams yesterday! she's getting 23ml per feeding and is on her way to 25. it won't be long before she has that pesky u.v. line out and we can start dressing her in all the cute little outfits her grammas have bought her! yes, even the little blue socks with the mooses!! just because she's a girl doesn't mean she can't wear blue... i honestly believe that between the two grammas' shopping sprees, lilly now has one of every available preemie outfit in the state of vermont!

lilly and moms started in on some serious feeding practice today. she took a bit of milk from a bottle this afternoon, then had a go at the real thing this evening. she's still trying to figure out this whole, 'suck, swallow, breath' thing. but that's okay, i know adults that can't eat without choking and gagging...

i think that's it for today. hopefully before too long she'll be taking all her nutrition on her own, gaining tons of weight, and on her way home!! veronica hopes it's within a week. we'll see if lillian is up to the challenge. and lilly's first ride home will be a cinch for me; i think i've been back and forth from houghton to marquette more in the last week than i had been in the three years we've lived up here! jeesh...
